Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group introduces Maxthane® pump tubing elements and confirms Qdos pump certification with the FDA and EC1935/2004.
FREMONT, CA: Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group (WMFTG) launches Maxthane® pump tubing elements and confirms FDA and EC1935/2004 certification for Qdos pumps. These developments will further strengthen Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group's (WMFTG) offering of pump solutions to the food and beverage industry.
Maxthane's sustainability credentials
Maxthane is designed for applications that require precise and dependable dosing of flavors, colors, and additives. It has a long service life and complies with FDA rules 21 CFR177.1680, EC1935/2004, and EU regulation 10/2011. Maxthane is entirely compatible with all types of food oils and most CIP (clean-in-place) chemicals, and it is made entirely of recyclable thermoplastic polyurethane. The tubing's superior peristaltic efficiency is notable due to its thinner wall and recyclable composition, which decreases the product's environmental impact and supports rising sustainability initiatives.
Maxthane has intended for use with Watson-Marlow 530 Series cased peristaltic pumps equipped with 520 RET pump heads, which offer great precision and ease of maintenance. LoadSure® quick-change choices (three sizes) facilitate switching. During routine maintenance, the operator simply replaces the pump head’s element.
Maxthane has a flow rate of up to 3.5 L/m and a pressure of up to 7 bar, which enables precise dosing and metering in a wide variety of applications. Users will benefit from increased service life and broad chemical compatibility, extremely low spallation, and strong abrasion and UV resistance.
Qdos certifications
Qdos pumps, which are used in metering applications in a wide variety of industrial applications worldwide, now bear the following certifications for use in food and beverage processing applications: EC1935/2004, EU regulation 10/2011, and FDA regulation 21CFR sections 170-199.
With a high turndown ratio of 20,000:1 and linear accuracy of 1 percent, Qdos pumps provide a cost-effective option for dosing and metering applications such as water conditioning and vitamin addition or viscosity modifiers. Additionally, 0.5 percent repeatability aids in the maintenance of continual product uniformity.
Commenting on the WMFTGs enhanced offering, Chris Palmer, Product Manager at WMFTG, says, “The food and beverage sector has a number of important pumping demands, including regulatory compliance, chemical compatibility, high performance and easy maintenance. Now, thanks to the advanced materials technology invested in Maxthane, food plants can add sustainability to the list of benefits they receive. In addition, confirmation of key certifications on Qdos means we are able to bring the process performance benefits of Qdos to a much wider audience.”
