The custom machining approach leveraged by RK Badger allows it to manufacture machines that help clients eliminate labor, increase yields, and gain more throughput. For example, if pepperoni producers selling to frozen pizza makers need 18 to 24-inch long pepperoni sticks, it modifies the processing line according to client requirements.

After an initial interview with the client, RK Badger visits the plant to survey it and gain exact details of the amount of automation they require.
Starting from scratch, RK Badger designs a system that grinds, blends, stuffs, racks, ferments, and dries pepperoni sticks with automated processes. Using robotics, it can offload the product racks so these sticks are laid on the conveyor, leading to the peeling machine. After peeling, a vacuum system collects the casing, and the conveyor sends the sticks through a metal detector and an X-ray machine to perform quality checks.
The quality checks determine if the pepperoni sticks are ready to process. Sticks that pass the quality check are sent to the docking blade that cuts the ends. The slicer then slices the pepperoni at a minimum rate of 6,000 pounds per hour. The high-speed tool steel blades are manufactured by RK Badger in-house. The diameter of the blades, the edge configuration, construction material, and speed are customized according to the client.
